I attended a weekend workshop at Cascade Center of Photography, held by Sean Bagshaw & Zack Schnepf. The space was roomy & wonderful and it was in a great location! Lots of nice photography on the walls, too. It was very worthwhile!

This was my first tour with Christian, Regula, and Sean Bagshaw. All three were professional, knowledgeable, flexible, positive and fun! The group bonded quickly and we were taken to amazing places (Christian already knew all the good places to go!) and thankfully the weather cooperated throughout the whole trip. This trip was 2 weeks with another 3 days of travel time to travel to and from Chile. We stayed in above average hotels and ate in very nice restaurants. The trip schedule was centered around morning and evening shooting sessions. Both Christian and Sean were available for questions, instructions, and advice whenever asked. I had the time of my life and I will go on another trip with them in the future and recommend them to my friends!

I can’t thank you enough for the 6 days of inspiration. Both classes were amazing and so incredibly informative. You have a teaching style that is so easy and welcoming, it was a pleasure to be part of it. I am so looking forward to meeting you in Portland, by then you will be an expert on our new toy. Have a fabulous trip and again, thank you so much!!!

What a great tour! Not my first nor will it be my last with this group. Christian Heeb and David Cobb get you to all the right locations and at the perfect times to capture wonderful images and memories. Behind the scenes is Regula minding all of the critical details for us so that David and Christian can focus on photography. On one of their tours, you will have a good time and not have to worry about where to go. Just don’t be late meeting the group. If the announced departure time is 0430, plan to be at the car at 0415!

I took a Fundamentals class with David Johnson last week and the whole experience was awesome! David, the studio, his technique…great! I learned so much, he was so patient to us newbies, giving us specific attention to what each of us needed. Great instructor, thank you David and Christian!

I have taken several workshops through the Cascade Center of Photography and loved them all. How to be successful as a commercial photographer, Nature Landscapes, Macro, Photographing Models, Flash Lighting, Nature Nightscapes, Downtown Street Photography, Star Workshops and more. The variety of workshops has helped me a lot. All the instructors that I’ve worked with are very professional while still being funny and approachable. I’ve learned a lot and furthered my career with the things I’ve learned. I can highly recommend the workshops offered. Best value.

What a fantastic time we had on the Nevada Ghost Town photo tour with Christian Heeb and David Cobb. The places we photographed were amazing to explore. Christian and David were very flexible, which allowed the addition of some unique sights and photography opportunities not on the original schedule. Combine that with a great group of passionate and creative photographers, all in all, it was a wonderful time. I wish that the adventure never had to end.

Thank you, Christian and Regula for sponsoring a great trip to Peru this spring! Christian, we valued your professional knowledge and expertise as you taught us technical and creative aspects of landscape photography. You continually scanned the landscape looking for opportunities to stop the van so we could capture the beauty of Peru’s countryside. Regula, your planning, help and kindness made us feel immediately welcomed and excited about the trip. We enjoyed the small group atmosphere of only 7 guests and made friends during our trip. We had opportunities to catch photos of local farmers harvesting their crops, and matrons sitting beside their pet llama selling handicraft textiles. And, of course, two days worth of photos of Machu Picchu! It was a memorable trip that any photo enthusiast would value. We certainly do! We look forward to joining you on more photo trips in the future.

Fabulous experience in South Africa and Botswana with Christian and Regula. The trip was a wonderful exposure, no pun intended, for my first photo tour. The animals and scenery were breathtaking as expected. A life-time experience I’ll never forget. C and R are accomplished photo and tour guides that made the trip pleasurable even when it was hectic at times.The lodging was varied and gave a good taste of some of the culture. The only problem is how addicting these photo tours can become as evidence that most of the people on the tours are repeaters. Made some good friends! Better save up I can’t wait to do another!

This was one of those weekend shoots that starts out pretty good but just keeps getting better. Christian made sure that we had opportunities for sunrise and sunset light with viewpoints from the traditional ‘looking down’ the valley, to up from the base of the hills, and lastly from way up at a high
point for a gorgeous sunset accompanied by lovely fluffy clouds. Perfect! Good people, good shooting, really fun!

The Cascade Center of Photography is an exceptional venue. The location is perfect for workshops, gallery openings, and studio work. World renowned photographers, Christian and Regual Heeb, are warm, inviting and have created an delightful space for art lovers in Central OR. I attended the Extended Dynamic Range (XDR) class by photographer extraordinaire Sean Bagshaw. This class was, hands down, the best post-processing training I’ve ever received. Sean teaches you the tools and skills needed to take your art to the next level. I highly recommend Cascade Center of Photography as a premier training center and studio.

This was a one-week photography tour of the Eastern Sierras (out of Reno) with Christian Heeb and Sean Bagshaw. Both are excellent guides and instructors. I came back with my head full of new information and wonderful memories.

The workshop was small (11 including instructors) and we all got to know each other. We captured beautiful sunrises and sunsets, glowing aspen trees, lakes, steaming creeks, rock formations, mountains, ancient bristle-cone pine trees, and did some light painting and star photography. Mono Lake was my favorite spot…surreal! We also did the ghost town of Bodi and street photography in Reno at night. If the sky didn’t look good at one place (i.e. clouds socked in), they had backup plans. We never missed a photo op!

The leaders took special pains to check out the areas before we arrived, driving all the way there and back to scout it out. We didn’t waste time trying to locate colorful trees or spectacular scenes. They knew the best roads to take. They provided a large van and car, comfy hotels, and led us to the best restaurants in even the most remote areas (and some would have been hard to find on our own!).

I’ve taken a number of workshops at Cascade Center of Photography now, and have loved them all! I’d highly recommend them.

I just wanted to send out a big thank you to Christian and David, as well as everyone else for a great weekend of photography! I really enjoyed getting to know all of you, and you each had ideas or techniques that were new to me!
I will try to send out some photos from the trip in the next day or so. I’d love to see photos from you all as well. I hope I have the pleasure of shooting with you in the future.

I was SO very nervous, awkward and self conscious at first because I’ve never done anything like this before and I hate having my picture taken but you made me feel a lot better about it. I almost wish I could do it again! Again, thank you so much for the opportunity and I wish you the best of luck!!

I just completed the Women’s Workshop about 3 hours ago. I am in awe of the women in my group and completely in awe with the instructor Rebecca Benoit. It was an amazing educational experience that left me feeling confident and ready to tackle some of the challenges I was having with light and exposure. This workshop was one of the better things I have done for myself. She helped each person with their personal camera explore the features, shortcuts and just get comfortable shooting with it. I will pursue photography with a whole new “eye” for the unusual photo that tells the story I want to. Thank you Rebecca!!!

These guys are great! Take a workshop here and you will not be disappointed!

Not my first outing with these folks and certainly not my last. Well planned, well staffed, safety first, great locations and a good time. Highly recommend Cascade Center of Photography!

Yesterday I attended the “Last Light & Night Photography” workshop. This workshop was another home run! As usual Christian took us to an outstanding and unusual location, where he provided excellent hands on advice and direction in regards to the many aspects of low light and night photography. From composition to camera settings, no question was left unanswered. Perhaps the best part of these workshops is the opportunity to meet, converse and share ideas with other photographers. Sign me up for the next one!

Had the wonderful experience of joining Christian on three Oregon workshops this spring and summer. Went to Crater Lake, Steelhead Falls and Shaniko Ghost town. Both Christian and Zach are great teachers and photographers. They got us to some great places at the right time, and were there to help and answer all of our questions. I learned some new techniques and came away with good photos. Highly recommend Cascade Center of Photography!

I just got back from a terrific Crater Lake workshop led by Zack Schnepf. Zack knows all the best places and times of day to get excellent shots. He is knowledgeable and supportive, and had excellent insights on how to improve our compositions, I learned a lot! Now I can’t wait to do the Fall in Bend workshop in October.

I had such a great time with a good group of people!  Each place we stopped was so different than the last.  It’s so hard to put into words how much I enjoyed it.

In July 2022, I was on the Cascade Center of Photography South and North Dakota photo tours.  Christian, Regula and David were successful in providing the group the best experience possible on both tours.  They adapted to any changes due to weather, conditions or other obstacles that arose during the 2 weeks, pivoting, as needed, to make sure that we were still getting a great experience.  All in all, the tours consisted of fun groups of people with many great locations for us to explore and photograph.  Can’t wait for the next tour with CCOP.

A terrific photo workshop well planned and executed by David Cobb & Christian Heeb. Included multiple sites in Nevada and in California. Early AM and night photography as well as portrait photography. Knowledgeable, articulate instructors who are flexible. Small group of enthusiastic seasoned amateurs attended and everyone learned something. Recommend checking their schedules for future photo tours. I will.

If you want to further your photographic knowledge and skills and have not yet taken a workshop from either Sean Bagshaw or David Cobb, there is no way I can describe what you are missing in this short review. To have both of these experts conducting the same workshop was definitely a double header. Great locations, one on one advice, coupled with amazing classroom demonstrations made for an excellent weekend. One word of advice. If you plan on taking one of these workshops in the future, signup early! They fill up in a matter of minutes.

When planning my first trip to the Cascades and Bend area, I decided to hire a private photo guide. I easily found Christian by googling. We communicated by email and Regula called in advance of my trip to answer questions and nail down what I wanted to do. After excellent advice from Regula, I decided on a split full day option for a sunrise and late day – sunset/twilight combo. It was just perfect for what I wanted.

Christian was the perfect host and we hit it off immediately. He quickly picked up where my abilities were and what I needed help with and what I didn’t. He saved me a great deal of research time and trial and error trying to find/discover the perfect spots. He worked his tail off giving me incredible value for the time I paid for. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He was exactly what I needed.

In addition to the great photo guide service, we had wonderful conversations in the car driving to the locations and he’s been a friend on social media since our trip What a guy! I hope to take one of his group photo trips in the future. I highly recommend Christian and Regula!

My daughter, 23, and I, 58, joined the Patagonia 2016 tour without much research into the area or what we were getting ourselves into. We are so glad that we put our trust in Christian and Regula! Christian made sure that we had opportunity to photograph at the most beautiful places and Regula planned our itinerary perfectly. We stopped often to photograph and were given hints, time and encouragement. We stayed in comfortable hotels, ate at great restaurants and what could have been intimidating border crossings were smoothly accomplished by Regula’s planning. Traveling in three cars of four persons each gave us the feeling of being on a long road trip with close friends. My daughter Carol and I had the trip of a lifetime and we will always cherish the memories. Thank you, Christian and Regula! Our thanks also to Sean Bagshaw for his instruction and enthusiasm.

The place it was held at was amazing and the people who coordinated the event were so nice and cheerful. They made sure we were comfortable. Looking forward to attending more workshops at this location.

I had the pleasure of recently participating in the Night Sky at Fort Rock workshop with professionals Christian and Zack. This workshop was hands down one of the best I have taken from any organization. Both instructors were enthusiastic, generous with their time, incredibly skilled, interesting and fun! From novice to experienced photographer, the workshop held appeal for all levels. I gained advice on aspects such as how best to capture warm light streaming through the historic school house to how best to fine tune focus on the night sky and Milky Way. I look forward to participating in future workshops and only regret that I don’t live closer to the Cascade Center of Photography.

With focus and precision,Christan leads his class on a journey of light and composition from his professional lens. With ease and amusement, Christian imparts the tech  aspects of landscape Photopgraphy that infuses the class, professional and novice alike, with antisipation and joy of discovery. I had a very enjoyable fieldtrip, no matter the elements both of nature and weather; shadow and light. I now look at my photos with new illumination.

This was my first tour with CCoP but is not likely to be my last. Both Christian and David were incredible leaders and very helpful both in the field as well as on the computer with photography instruction. I ask a lot of questions but I don’t recall one that they could not answer. They even included a photo processing session upon my request.

This is not a trip that you will be pampered on nor is it very strenuous. Because this type of photography is best captured early morning and late night, your activities will be centered around those hours. Christian and David did an excellent job of planning and coordinating the highlights of the trip and we saw many more things than I expected. I highly recommend this company and these people.

On Saturday, June 4th, I attended Cascade Center of Photography’s Fort Rock Photography Outing with Christian Heeb. Fantastic experience. Christian sure knows photography and answers questions of any level. Waiting for his next outing.

All kidding aside, photo workshop was great! Visited many different locations throughout Southern Baja, had fabulous sunsets, did a really cool night workshop, met fun people and most of all, learned much more about how to use my camera! Thanks to David M. Cobb and Christian Heeb for putting up with my silliness and making the class so much fun. It truly was a blast! Processed photos when I get home.

Zach patiently helped each of us with camera settings for the night skies & Milky Way, even with different makes of cameras. He ran back & forth helping nail focus of the stars. My 14mm lens didn’t work but he was able to help me with another lens & the photos are great! His enthusiasm was infectious as the Milky Way appeared above us. The post production class was beyond helpful and very in-depth. A workshop not to be missed!

Awesome is hardly enough to describe the night time workshop in Shaniko, OR. on Saturday with Christian Heeb. Not only did he show us points of interest, Christian gave targeted instruction for the type of shooting we were doing at the time. Loved it all and want to thank everyone who led and everyone who participated for making this a world-class adventure.

This was my first trip to the Eastern Sierra’s. I wanted to visit a few places & get to learn photography at the same time. The instructors, Christian Heeb & Sean Bagshaw were a good team. Sean came early & scoped out the right places to shoot fall color.
The eleven of us travelled in a van & a subaru station wagon together.Cristian & Sean took control of the wheels. The group quickly bonded well swapping travel stories & their latest gizmos.
The instructors were getting feedbacks regularly from the group & changing the itinerary if needed.
We stayed in good reputable hotels and ate in good restaurants.
I would definitely go on a photo trip with them again. I recommend them highly.
